Bristlechin (The Bad Man) - Wheaties Cereal mask (1940s-50s) - backside

$55.00

This “Bristlechin, The Bad Man” mask is one of the more unusual and character-driven designs from the postwar Wheaties mask series (1940s–50s). With his checkered cap, heavy scowl, and rough stubble, Bristlechin was designed as the comical “villain” archetype that balanced out the heroic, animal, and exotic figures offered in the same run.

Wheaties masks were printed directly on the back of cereal boxes, meant to be cut out and discarded after play. Because of that, intact panels with Bristlechin surviving are moderately scarce, making him a desirable piece for collectors who appreciate the more offbeat and humorous characters in the series.

Measures: 10 x 12.5 inches
Date: 1940s–1950s
Origin: Wheaties cereal backside premium

While not as rare as top-tier animal masks like Teddy the Bear or Hopper the Bunny, Bristlechin remains an important part of the Wheaties set, representing the “villain” role in the character lineup.
