Devil - Shotwell Candy Company mask (1940s-50s)

$150.00

A fiery relic from the golden age of candy promotions, this Lucifer-style Devil mask was produced by the Shotwell Candy Company, a Chicago-based confectioner that flourished in the mid-20th century before being absorbed by larger candy conglomerates. Known for innovative marketing and bold giveaways, Shotwell used striking masks like this to promote its candy bars at grocery stores, theaters, and seasonal events.

The mask itself features sharp, exaggerated horns and menacing arched brows—classic examples of early commercial Halloween-style graphics. With the “SHOTWELL” name emblazoned across the forehead, it doubled as both a costume piece and walking advertisement.
