$145.00

This is an original Ella Cinders promotional paper mask, issued in 1933 by the Einson Freeman Company and licensed through the Famous Artists Syndicate as part of their Par-T-Mask line.

Character Background
Ella Cinders, created by writer Bill Conselman and artist Charles Plumb, debuted in 1925 and became one of the most popular comic heroines of her day. Loosely inspired by the Cinderella fairy tale, Ella was portrayed as a plucky, witty, and determined young woman navigating daily struggles with a sharp sense of humor. The strip’s success led to a feature film in 1926 and a syndicated run that lasted until the early 1960s.

Promotional Use
The Ella mask was distributed in dime stores, theaters, and retail promotions to capitalize on her popularity. These masks were both cheap entertainment for kids and powerful cross-promotion for comic syndicates and advertisers.

Design & Details
Measuring 7½ by 8½ inches, this mask features Ella’s iconic wide eyes, bobbed hair with blue highlights, and lipstick-red smile. The design captures her blend of innocence and sass that made her such a relatable Depression-era heroine.
