Lillums - Einson Freeman Co. Promotional Paper Mask (1933)

$110.00

This original Lillums paper mask was produced by the Einson Freeman Company in 1933 and licensed through the Famous Artists Syndicate.

Character Background
Lillums Lovewell was the sweetheart of Harold Teen, the comic strip character created by Carl Ed. As Harold’s on-again, off-again love interest, she reflected 1930s youth culture — prim, proper, and often exasperated by Harold’s slang-filled antics. Together, Harold and Lillums represented the classic high school romance of Depression-era America.

Promotional Use
Distributed as part of Einson Freeman’s Par-T-Mask line, this mask was one of several licensed premiums featuring comic strip icons. These masks were colorful, affordable novelties, given out in stores or through tie-in advertising campaigns, letting children “step into” the world of the comics.

Design & Details
Printed on sturdy paperboard with bright litho inks, the mask captures Lillums’ round face, flushed cheeks, and signature bobbed hair with a ribbon detail. It measures 8 inches by 10 inches.
