Pimpo (Lord George Sanger) - Kelloggs Corn Flakes Masks of Famous Clowns (1955) - backside (UK)
This vintage mask was issued on the back of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes boxes in 1955 as part of the “Masks of Famous Clowns” series. It features Pimpo, a clown associated with Lord George Sanger’s Circus, one of the great names in Victorian and early 20th-century British circus history.
Lord George Sanger (1825–1911) was a legendary showman who, along with his brother John, built one of the most successful traveling circuses in Britain. Known for its lavish parades, exotic animals, and popular clown acts, Sanger’s Circus became a household name. Featuring Pimpo in Kellogg’s promotion was a nod to that enduring legacy, even decades after the height of the circus’s fame.
