Prince David (Gullivers Travels) - Paramount Pictures - Heckers Flour Promotional Paper Mask (1939)

$125.00

A scarce survivor from the golden age of animated film promotions, this full-color paper mask features Prince David, one of the central characters from Paramount Pictures’ 1939 animated feature Gulliver’s Travels. Created as a direct competitor to Disney’s Snow White, Gulliver’s Travels was Paramount’s most ambitious animated production of the era, and its marketing campaign reached into grocery stores, bakeries, and kitchens across America.

Distributed as a premium tie-in with Hecker’s Flour, these masks invited children to wear their favorite characters while acting out scenes from the movie.

The reverse includes:

A “Lilliputian Cakes” recipe using Hecker’s Flour

“Play Gulliver’s Travels” instructions for kids

Paramount Pictures copyright, confirming it as an officially licensed piece

Rarity & Collectibility:
Masks from the Gulliver’s Travels promotion are rare, especially lead characters like Prince David and Princess Glory, which were often played with and discarded. This example retains strong color despite age, with some visible wear and light creasing typical of its 1930s paper stock.
