Snitch (Gullivers Travels) - Paramount Pictures - Heckers Flour - Promotional Paper Mask (1939)
This Snitch mask was part of a scarce promotional tie-in between Paramount Pictures’ 1939 animated film Gulliver’s Travels and Heckers Flour. Distributed as a grocery premium, these lithographed paper masks were designed for children to cut out and wear, often accompanied by promotional recipes printed on the reverse such as “Lilliputian Cakes.”
Unlike later cereal masks from the 1940s–50s, these 1930s promotional film masks had very limited distribution, tied directly to the release of the film. Few were saved after use, as most children wore them until they tore.
Measures: approx. 8 x 10 inches
Date: 1939
Origin: Heckers Flour / Paramount Pictures promotion for Gulliver’s Travels
