Doc (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs) - Par-T-Mask - Einson Freeman Co. Paper Mask (1937)
This original Par-T-Mask paper mask of Doc, the wise and bumbling leader of the Seven Dwarfs, was produced in 1937 by the Einson Freeman Company, Inc. as part of their officially licensed series for Walt Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Snow White was the first full-length animated feature film ever released, and its unprecedented success cemented Disney’s place in film history. Characters like Doc — recognizable by his spectacles, cheerful face, and gentle authority — were instantly beloved by audiences young and old.
The Einson Freeman Par-T-Masks were sold as party favors and promotional items during the film’s original release. Printed in bright lithograph colors and die-cut for wear, they allowed children of the 1930s to quite literally “step into” the fairy tale. Most were discarded after play, making surviving examples scarce more than 85 years later.
This mask features Doc’s round glasses, rosy cheeks, and friendly grin — an ideal companion to the Snow White and Witch masks, as well as the full dwarf set. Collectors especially prize these as early Disneyana ephemera, directly tied to the groundbreaking release of Disney’s first feature.
