Dopey (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs) - Foremost Milk Shake Mix - Advertising Paper Mask (1967)
Original 1967 promotional paper mask featuring Dopey, the most beloved and recognizable of Disney’s Seven Dwarfs. Produced as part of the Foremost Milk Shake Mix campaign, these masks were distributed to children during the theatrical re-release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1967.
This mask showcases Dopey’s oversized ears, playful grin, and bright blue cap — instantly recognizable and a favorite among collectors of both Disneyana and vintage advertising. On the reverse, Foremost Dairy branding encouraged families to “try all of the delicious flavors of Snow White Milk Shake Mix,” cleverly tying Disney magic to a household product.
Larger than the original 1937 Par-T-Masks, these Foremost masks were printed in bold lithographed colors and sized for display appeal. At 14 inches by 9 inches, Dopey is one of the most eye-catching pieces in the 1967 set.
Historical Context:
1937: Original Einson Freeman Co. paper masks released alongside Snow White’s theatrical debut.
1967: Disney re-released Snow White to theaters, pairing it with Foremost Dairies’ Milk Shake Mix promotion, giving away masks of Happy, Bashful, Dopey, and others.
These masks reflect Disney’s mid-century strategy of refreshing classic characters for a new generation while embedding them in advertising cross-promotions.
