Stripes (The Tiger) - Kelloggs Corn Flakes Pantomine mask (1955) - backside
In the mid-1950s, Kellogg’s released a lively series of “Pantomime” cut-out masks on the backs of Corn Flakes boxes, designed to let children stage plays and animal adventures right at home. One of the boldest from the set is “Stripes the Tiger”—a roaring, wide-mouthed tiger rendered in vivid litho colors that blend comic-book style with wild-animal ferocity.
Part of a broader push to make cereal packaging interactive, these masks turned breakfast into entertainment, with kids eagerly collecting and cutting them out to wear or trade. “Stripes” remains one of the most dramatic and display-worthy designs from the collection.
