Teddy (The Bear) - Wheaties Cereal mask (1940s-50s) - backside

$175.00

This “Teddy the Bear” mask is one of the hardest-to-find characters from the postwar Wheaties mask series (1940s–50s). Featuring a wide-eyed, almost cartoon-doll style bear face with a vivid orange mouth and tongue, Teddy is remembered as one of the more unusual and whimsical animal masks General Mills offered to children on cereal box backs.

Unlike more common Wheaties masks such as Harold Teen or Firefang the Tiger, Teddy has an extremely low survival rate. Most examples were cut out and discarded immediately after play. Complete panels like this, with full cereal box framing intact, are exceptionally scarce and seldom offered on the open market. Collectors of cereal ephemera and character advertising rank Teddy among the top-tier rarities in the Wheaties mask set.
