Huckleberry Hound - Kelloggs Corn Flakes Hanna Barbara mask (1961) - cutout

$40.00

This vintage cutout mask features Huckleberry Hound, one of Hanna-Barbera’s earliest and most beloved cartoon characters. Debuting on The Huckleberry Hound Show in 1958, Huck became a household name with his slow Southern drawl and good-natured personality. The character quickly became a television icon and, in 1960, made history when his show won the first Emmy ever awarded to an animated series.

In 1961, Kellogg’s issued a series of Hanna-Barbera masks printed directly on the backs of Corn Flakes boxes, tying Saturday morning cartoon characters directly to breakfast time. Children could cut out and wear masks of Huck and his companions—Pixie, Dixie, Yogi Bear, and others—bringing the TV stars into their playtime.
