Mr Jinks - Kelloggs Corn Flakes Hanna Barbara mask (1961) - cutout
This vintage cereal mask features Mr. Jinks, the sly orange cat from Hanna-Barbera’s Pixie and Dixie and Mr. Jinks cartoon, which ran from 1958–1961. Known for his catchphrase “I hates those meeces to pieces!,” Mr. Jinks became one of the studio’s breakout television characters during the early years of syndicated animation.
Issued in 1961 on the back of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes boxes, this mask was one of several designs children could cut out and wear, connecting their Saturday morning favorites directly to the breakfast table. The bright lithography captures Jinks’ mischievous charm, complete with his wide grin and signature bow tie.
