Tiger - Kelloggs Rice Krispies mask (1950s) - backside
This ferocious tiger mask was printed on the backside of Kellogg’s Rice Krispies boxes in the 1950s, part of the era when cereal companies delighted children with cut-and-wear premiums right on the package itself. The bold artwork captures the golden age of cereal advertising—long before Tony the Tiger became the face of Frosted Flakes, Kellogg’s experimented with different wildcat designs to grab attention at the breakfast table.
Vividly illustrated with bright green eyes, sharp teeth, and hand-rendered stripes, this mask was meant to be cut out and worn, making surviving examples scarce.
